Jose Casallas began his studies at the Francisco Cristancho music academy in the city of Bogotá with the professor Gustavo Torres. In 2000 he began his professional studies at the National University of Colombia with the teacher Sonia Diaz, later, he would study with the renowned teacher Alberto Ponce at L’Ecole Normale in Paris and with the teacher Tanja Chagnot at the music conservatory of L ’Hay les Roses in France. At the beginning of 2012, he traveled to Helsinki, Finland, where he deepened his studies in guitar and pedagogy at the University of Applied sciences ”Metropolia” under the direction of the guitarist Petri Kumela. He finished his master’s studies at the Royal Music School ”Kungliga Musikhögskolan” in Stockholm with the Professor Peter Berlind Carlson.Jose Casallas lives and works in Helsinki, Finland.He teach at the Avonia / Espoo Music Institute

Aloitin kitaransoiton opiskelun Kolumbian kansallisessa yliopistossa kuubalaisen opettajan, Sonia Diazin, kurssilla. Vuonna 2005 saavuin Pariisiin opiskelemaan Alberto Poncen oppilaana École Normale de Parisiin, josta sain kitaransoiton tutkinnon ja opiskelin myös Tanja Chagnot’n oppilaana L’hay les roses -musiikkikonservatoriossa, jossa suoritin 3. vaiheen tutkinnon.
Valmistuin keväänä 2016 musiikkipedagogiaa Helsingin Metropoliasta aikuiskoulutuksessa Petri Kumelan oppilaana. Tein maisteri diplomi Kungliga Musikhögskolan Tukholmassa opettajan Peter Berlind Carlson johdolla. Nyt olen kitaraopettaja Musiikkiopistossa Avonia.
